The Federation


The Federation of Bread Producers and Confectioners in Bulgaria is a national, employers’ trade organization, integrating into regional alliances majority of owners of firms in bakers and pastry industry. Founded in 1992 as Union of Private Bread and registered as a non-profit organization.

Since 1994 the organization has been a member of the International Union of Bakers (IUB) and since 2000 it has been a member of the International Union of Confectioners, Pastry-cooks and Ice-cream makers (UIPCG). The Federation is also a regular member of the Bulgarian Industry Association since 1995, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Union for Civil Initiative and Bulgarian Partnership Association and of the Bulgarian Association of Food and Drink Industry. The FBCB chairman is a member of the Advisory Board of the grain in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

The Federation is a winner of the prestigious award “Hermes”, bestowed for activity by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. FBCB win the third place in the competition of the German Association for Technical Development - “The most successful branch union 2002-2003”.

Since 2003, firms in FBCB are able to use the trademark of the organization as an indicator of safety and quality of output produced by them. The right to use the mark is granted on conditions established in the rules and procedure.

Since November 2009 FBCB will introduce Trademark, ensuring safety and quality of products and materials that are consumed.

The trademark will be available to all downstream - grain, flour, bread, pastry and confectionery.

Chairman of FBCB is Mariana Kukusheva.

Since October 2009 Mariana Kukusheva is vice president of the board of the BCCI branch organizations and a member of the Board of National Chamber of Skilled Crafts.

The members of The Board of Directors and Control Council of the Federation are: Todor Niyagolov, Lazar Genchev, Petar Milanov, Nadejda Kostadinova, Valeri Krustev, Nikolay Kaydjiev, Olya Rangelova, Kostadin Georgiev.
